Gap analysis
TuBe finds the websites that compete with yours on Google, picks the closest ones, and lists the keywords they rank for that you don't yet.
When to use it. When you're not sure who your online competitors are, or you want the biggest list of keyword ideas at once.
Your call. A gap analysis only reads search data. Nothing changes on your website.
How it works
- Choose Find my gaps. TuBe finds the websites that rank for the same searches as yours and picks the closest to your business: up to 3 on the free trial, up to 5 with a plan.
- It lists the keywords they rank for in Google's top 30, the most searched first, with where you stand on each. It takes a minute or two.
- Use the tabs to see the keywords you don't rank for yet, the ones they rank higher for, or all of them. Choose Write to start an article for one.
What you see on the page
- The competitor cards: The websites TuBe compared, with how many keywords each ranks for and how many of those your site ranks for too.
- Who ranks: The best position one of those competitors has for that keyword, and which competitor it is.
- You don't rank yet: They rank for it and your site doesn't show up. Usually the best place to start.
- They rank higher: You both rank for it, with them ahead.
- No competitors to compare yet: TuBe couldn't find websites close enough to yours. That is common for new or small websites: name one yourself in competitor analysis.
After you act
- A gap analysis only reads search data. Nothing changes on your website.
- The competitors TuBe found also show up as suggestions in competitor analysis.
Free trial and plans
Free trial: 1 gap analysis: the keywords up to 3 of your closest competitors rank for that you don't
With a plan: Every plan includes gap analysis, comparing up to 5 competitors each time.
Questions
How does TuBe pick the competitors?
From the websites that rank for the same searches as yours, TuBe picks the ones whose rankings overlap yours the most for their size. Big directories, social sites, government and school sites, and your own site are left out.
Can I choose the competitors myself?
Yes, one at a time, in competitor analysis.
What does Open field mean?
Neither you nor the competitors rank for it yet, so it's open to whoever covers it first.
